One of the great things about being part of the Microsoft Accelerator program is how we’ve been able to tap into so many different products and teams across Microsoft. In turn, that allows us to partner together and delivercomplete and compelling solutions to our joint customers.
Over the past few weeks, we took this partnership “on the road,” meeting with dozens of Microsoft accounts and business partners in San Francisco, New York City and, this week, Washington D.C. at Microsoft’s Inspire event.
We’ve also had a number of joint wins, including recent work we’ve done for a number of customers – for example,OneAZ, the largest credit union in Arizona, as well as UBA, the nation’s leading organization of independent benefit advisors.
Leveraging the Microsoft Cloud Stack
For these customers, we’ve been able to deliver Unifi’s Data-as-a-Service platform running as a “full stack” solution with a number of Microsoft solutions and services, including:
- Deploying our DaaS solution on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Leveraging Microsoft HDInsight as the data platform for Unifi’s data catalog, preparation and transformation features.
- Visualizing the output of Unifi via Microsoft Power BI.
And as Microsoft rolls out their hybrid cloud solutions over the coming months, the potential will only grow.
The New Moats
All of this enables what Jerry Chen of Greylock Ventures recently called The New Moats: how organizations can – and must – use data and AI strategically to differentiate, defend and enhance their business models and competitive positioning.
Quoting his post, which is well worth a read:
“The battle is moving from the old moats, the sources of the data, to the new moats, what you do with the data. Using a company’s data, you can upsell customers, automatically respond to support tickets, prevent employee attrition, and identify security anomalies. Products that use data specific to an industry (i.e. healthcare, financial services), or unique to a company (customer data, machine logs, etc.) to solve a strategic problem begin to look like a pretty deep moat, especially if you can replace or automate an entire enterprise workflow or create a new value-added workflow that was made possible by this intelligence.”
